Safety

With pre-collision safety system, the Prius uses sensors on the front bumper to calculate the distance and relative speed of the car in front and will warn you if an accident is likely to occur, so you are prepared to slow down. When an accident becomes unavoidable the system takes over, snapping into action- the brake is applied and seatbelts are tightened- reducing impact on the car and the passengers.

Technology

The Toyota Prius uses cutting edge technology, to produce a greener, more comfortable and more efficient car. The solar ventilation system can power an internal fan, cooling the car inside while parked in direct sunlight. The solar ventilation system uses solar panels embedded in the roof an internal fan which ejects the hot air that can build up inside your car.  
The Multi Information display combines an energy monitor, a hybrid system indicator and a fuel consumption monitor. Together these three displays provide moment by moment feedback on your fuel efficiency, the car's power flow and its response to your driving style.

Design

The sleek aerodynamic lines and sweeping roof of the Prius are not just for show, they provide efficiency benefits as well. Every corner of the Prius optimises air flow over, under and around the car. The car is designed to slip through the air, saving fuel emissions. Toyota uses our very own developed eco-plastic that emits 20% less CO2 than standard plastic over its lifetime.

Performance

The Prius uses superior Hybrid Synergy Drive technology, which creates a lighter, more efficient system. Prius uses both a petrol engine and the electric motor and switches seamlessly between the two or uses them simultaneously to deliver the best performance for any condition. This results in lower emissions and up to 50% better fuel economy than a similarly sized conventional petrol vehicle.

With three alternate driving modes the Prius allows you to set the driving mode to suit your driving mood, or on-road situation. Need power on the freeway? Switch to power mode.
